Karakul sheep are native to Central Asia, particularly Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Iran. Astrakhan and Sawarka are regional variations for Karakul fur. Astrakhan is more commonly used in Russia and Europe, while Sawarka is used for a specific type of Karakul from Southwest Africa known for its looser curls. The most prized fur comes from young lambs, especially newborns, known as “broadtail.” This fur has a unique moiré effect—a wavy, shimmering pattern—due to the flat curls lying close together. Crafting a vest using this type of fur is quite interesting with techniques like, pelting, cleaning and sorting, cutting and turning into patterns, then sewing and lining for comfort.

The only acceptable reason for a return or exchange is if the item is in its original condition. The shipping cost to send the item back to our warehouse or production house will be paid by the customer.
